I've finally had the chance to sit down and put together my vision for the mudroom space that runs through the center of our new home that I am building. The space will be used not only as a mudroom, but also as a laundry area and pantry area.

To really make the space work for us, I have picked out a slate colored Italian porcelain hexagon tile that should hold up well to muddy boots and trails of snow. What I'm super excited about are the Kenzzi Zoudia tiles that I hope to install for the backsplash behind the laundry sink and appliances. Speaking of appliances, I've picked out an eco-friendly and efficient top-loading set from Whirlpool. 
I have been trying to reduce, reuse, and recycle many of the purchases for the home (such as the Hex tiles, which I purchased from the Habitat for Humanity Restore) but, for appliances I decided to go new to be as energy efficient as possible, in a gun metal gray that will hopefully work well with all of the other grays and whites.
